In this project, I had to undertake a live project that comprises negotiation of a brief, timescale, budget and product between an external collaborator for their mutual benefit. 

 

The live project I chose was Sheffield Hallam University Atrium Architecture Cascade Proposals. My clients representative were BDP Architects, Sheffield. They were currently doing a large masterplan development across the university and have asked me to design a ‘display zone’ providing display space at the Cascade section of the Atrium.

 

 I decided to design a display zone exhibiting digital art. I thought it would be interesting to create a space that is representative of science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines as the site is located near STEM departments. The digital art is placed on welded metal structures with LED screens that will display motioned art and can be replaced with different imagery regularly. The screens can also provide important information to staff and students providing the function of a notice board.
